Image of a Black Hole Captured For The First Time

In a historic step, the first-ever image of a black hole was captured by the astronomers at the National Science Foundation (NSF) and the result was announced on Wednesday at 6.30 pm (9 am ET). 



The Event Horizon Telescope (EHT) -- a planet-scale array of eight ground-based radio telescopes forged through international collaboration -- was designed to capture images of a black hole.
