Biological Immortality - The Jellyfish Turritopsis Dohrnii

The jellyfish Turritopsis Dohrnii is known as the "immortal jellyfish" because it can revert back to its polyp stage after reaching sexual maturity. This means that it can theoretically live forever, as long as it does not get eaten or killed by something else.

This jellyfish is found in the Mediterranean Sea and the Indo-Pacific Ocean. It is about the size of a penny and has a transparent body. It is a member of the hydrozoan class, which also includes corals and sea anemones.
